Alto
contemporary bistro
mountains not just a scenic postcard - but an escape for the city dweller…

Imbibed with the well-being of altitude, “Alto“ alternates between the rough and uncut and the solid and massive - everything is a purification of style, and design is king. Furniture by Hannes Wettstein for Horgenglarus and T. Diwan for Riva 1920: their lines are clear and create spaciousness. The light fittings of the “Itre“ collection dance in a weightless volume. Noble materials: maple furniture and bleached oak floors off-set the taupe surfaces - an inter-play of light and shadow. Attentive to the pervading mood, its creator, DBA, kept the “Bistrot“ allure and drew it into the urban context. Social interaction and flexibility with lounge-bar “attitude“: a large bar-table and a sofa area, warmed by a table-hearth. The buffet and bistrot tables beckon to each other. The food takes flight - in this age of the global village, it is essential to try astonishing combinations of forgotten origins - just like the Kingdom of Piedmont. However making it simple often makes it good! In this context Italian delicatessen fare mixes with young salads sprouts. Good bread, cheeses, risotto and dolce vita! [+ information]
